Submitted by narko 12 months, 2 weeks, 4 days, 9 hours ago
One interesting topic on web development is webservice development. There are several techniques to implement a webservice out there, and today I’ll talk about one technique that I worked in the recent past that I really like: SOAP. As per wikipedia: SOAP, originally defined as Simple Object Access Protocol, is a protocol specification for exchanging... Join discussion...

Submitted by narko 12 months, 3 weeks, 3 days, 9 hours ago
I've just released my first symfony plugin named sfRestfulAuthenticationPlugin. As you can see from it's name it's something like a port of technoweenie's restful_authentication plugin. It uses some cool new features from symfony 1.2 like the form framework and RESTful routes. Tickets can be submitted on http://sfrestfulauthenticationplugin.lighthouseapp... Join discussion...

This guide will take you through the steps howto get the latest Eclipse together with PDT (PHP development Tools) running on your ubuntu box (Feisty or Hardy)... Join discussion...

I've started work on intergrating Phorum into symfony . It's working pretty well so far, but there's still work to do. If you want to help out, please feel free to email me, my work so far is in SVN at http://svn.two-pebbles.com/sfPhorumPlugin/ , and there's an example that's currently at http://garden.pookey.co.uk/frontend_dev... Deploying symfony project with Capistrano

Submitted by krasimir-angelov 18 months, 3 weeks, 6 days, 8 hours ago
As you may know Capistrano is a great tool "originally written to ease the pain of deploying Rails applications". If you are not familiar with it take a look at it's getting started guide. Even if Rails applications development is the primary way that people use Capistrano it can be used for a lot more than that. Let me show you how you can use it for easy-and-with-no-pain deployment of symfony project. Join discussion...

I18n is for life (actions), not just for Christmas (templates)

Submitted by narko 19 months, 3 weeks, 4 days, 8 hours ago
Well, the point is make sure you Internationalise everything, not just the text you have in the templates. For example, when using ajax calls you may be rendering text directly from actions, or you may be throwing exceptions which have meaningful error messages which are displayed by the template. You need to remember to “i18nalise” this... Join discussion...
